I'm a tall guy, with a 46 chest who bought an XL. Pretty much true to size. Arms are also kind of buff so sleeves are kind of snug and unfortunately the buttons around the 3/4 sleeves don't fit around the forearms which might be the only flaw of this shirt. It grabs a little bit at the shoulder, but I like the overall shirt. The epaulets are a nice touch.
