These slippers are stunning, and I was so thrilled to nab a pair, but sadly it was not to be. I'm an Australian size 9/9.5 in shoes, US 9.5. I bought these in a 9.5, but I think I would need a 10.5, or at least a 10. I could get them on, but they were too tight, and so neatly tailored that I don't think they'd stretch much in length. The red color is so bright and striking, I hope Charles Philip Shanghai continues to make them in this shade. The packaging is absolutely beautiful. They arrive in a white gloss box which flips open and is lined with blue and white stripe fabric (matching the lining of the shoes). Then the slippers are in a blue and white striped bag, with shapers in the shoes so they don't get crushed. The only downside is a prominent sticker on the inside of the box which reads something like "if these shoes show any sign of wear whatsoever, they cannot be returned. Likewise, the box must be in tact... [etc.]". It seemed a bit much, and sort of spoiled the hint of luxury in the packaging. How many people would wear, then return, a pair of slippers anyway? The slippers themselves are quite sturdy, made from stiff canvas lined with soft cotton fabric. They're very comfortable and flattering, like ballet slippers but with a pointier toe and a moccasin style cut. Very art deco, somehow. The sole is soft but durable leather, and so is the insole. I was expecting that to be fabric, but leather is far superior as it will hold up with wear.I love the concept of loungey slippers that are not ugg boots or some huge approximation of a fluffy creature (eg. bunny slippers). Why should women dress like babies at home, in pink and blue and marshmallow robes? These are chic, elegant and comfortable. I hope they will soon be available at Revolve and elsewhere in larger numbers and with a large variety of colours. But be warned: they run VERY small.
