SeaVees celebrates the casual style of California in the 1960?s. The brand is a study in sixties revisionism, each style named after an influential date in California culture. SeaVees is adapted appropriately for today?s modern sensibilities. Originally established in 1964, it is not a token revival effort, but a respectful rehabilitation movement. Think Steve McQueen cool, Richard Neutra clean and Brian Wilson creative.

Let me start by saying that I love white tennis shoes. I will only buy all white sneakers, and I have never seen a shoe that better fits my design aesthetics. This shoe looks as great in person as it does in the few images on this site. Everything was great until I first put it on. Immediately I noticed that the shoe size does not run true. I normally wear a 10 1/2 or 11 size shoe, with this shoe I thought that an 11 would fit me no problem. The shoe was not very forgiving to start with and was too snug on both my feet. After a few outings it seemed to stretch to fit my right foot better, but my left foot is still cramped. I've always expected that my one foot was slightly wider than the other so I don't hold a grudge against the shoe for this point. What I do dislike though is that the heel area refuses to loosen on either foot, causing it to rub up against the back of my foot. After a few short outings I decided to give the shoes a real test drive and spent a full day with them on. I was on my feet for 5 or 6 hours, mostly standing still for the day.. By the end of the day I had formed two terrible blisters at the back of my heel, where the shoe rubbed against me. I was in terrible pain, such bad pain that has never happened to me from a shoe before. I felt like there were blisters beginning to form near the front of my feet in addition to the heel area, and did my best to minimize my walking for the rest of the day. All in all these shoes are best left in a clear case on your mantle as a piece of art. I will never risk wearing these out again because of the pain that I had to suffer. I love the design, but the shoe just doesn't provide the comfort that my foot requires.
